Hello and welcome to the Park Farm Equestrian & Chasers website, my name is Michael and I am the manager here at Park Farm. I have been married to Janette for twenty years and we have three lovely and energetic children, all of whom ride and love the outdoors. Janette has been riding since she was six and competed in dressage, show jumping and cross country. She also enjoys hacking in the beautiful countryside around the farm. I started my farming career over 25 years ago in South Yorkshire and moved around the country until 2003, gaining experience on a number of farms. As the manager at Park Farm, I oversee the day to day running of the farm with the help of Ian and Phil who have both worked on the farm in excess of 30 years. I have always had an interest in our wildlife, its protection and promotion and Park Farm has given me the opportunity to pursue this interest.
Park Farm is set in just over 1600 acres of beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, it is a traditional arable farm growing a variety of crops and large areas are given over to environmental projects. We have a diverse number of habitats which include Semi-ancient woodland, spinney's, grassland, hedges, ponds, a canal and a disused railway line. These very different habitats encourage a wide variety of flora and fauna which include foxes, badgers, woodpeckers, kestrels, sparrow hawks, buzzards, hares and deer. Alongside the opportunities to enjoy the wildlife, spectacular views of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed from the Hemplow Hills and Downtown Hills. The farm is home to many of our more rare native endangered birds such as the tree sparrow and a number of rare moths and butterflies.
Located in spectacular Northamptonshire country side near the boundaries of Warwickshire and Leicestershire, we offer off road riding in this lovely country side over 8.5 miles and 3.4 miles. The courses have a variety of optional jumps up to 3ft in height ideal for having fun or more serious schooling. The courses have been sown with a special grass seed mixture to provide a very dense "springy turf".
We have many future projects in the pipeline including the building of two more cross country courses giving even more access to this beautiful countryside, hedge laying, providing nesting facilities for our native birds and providing continued support to the local wild life. Proving that farming, care for the environment and public access can work together.
