Hi everyone, Spring has sprung and both courses are now open for use. I hope you are all well and we are looking forward to seeing you this year at Park Farm. We have the two cross country courses over 3.5 and 8.5 miles. All the jumps are optional and the long courses make for a fantastic hack out in the beautiful Northamptonshire country side. We also have a number of days booked by other organisations including Le Trec in May, the McMillan charity ride and Misterton and district picnic ride in September all are fun days out and the McMillan ride raises funds to support a fantastic charity. For more information try www.facebook.com/macmillancharityride.We will keep you up dated as more days are booked.
Merry Christmas to all our customers and friends. Thank you for making 2013 a wonderful year hops to see you in 2014. Regards Janette and Michael
Both cross country courses are now closed
We are pleased to announce that we are holding a MacMillan Charity Ride again this year on Saturday 21st September 2013. For details please go to www.facebook.com/macmillancharityride. If you can support this very worthy course we would love to see you all. There will be loads of other activities to do on the day as well as the sponsored ride. Hope to see you there.
Hi there, well its finally here the day we can open up the cross country courses! With such a wet and cold winter we were beginning to worry if the ground would ever be right. Both courses have good going with just the odd soft spot. Here’s hoping the weather is going to keep on improving and we might be able to salvage some of this years crops. We seem to be able to grow a good crop of pigeons and slugs at the moment.
Our thoughts however are with the farmers who have tragically suffered so much and lost so many animals, ponies included this winter. At a time of year which should see new life springing up all around its is partially cruel to have lost so many.
What a lovely morning sun shining bright slight wind, perfect! Except the ground is so wet we have had to shut the courses down. Hopefully a couple of day’s weather like this and we should be able to open again. Hopefully the team chasing at the Bicester and Whaddon will still be able to go ahead tomorrow. Good luck to all those involved and taking part.
We had a charity event here last week in aide of Macmillan Cancer Support organised by Bea and members of the Le Trek organisation. They had a wonderful turn out and a good time was had by all. Many thanks to all those who helped organise and took part
Still raining here so we have had to shut down the cross country courses for a while, but the school is still up and running and being well used. Emma put on a fantastic clear round show jumping morning last month which was well attended and everyone enjoyed themselves going home with a rosette! We also had the endurance training day here and the weather behaved itself the day was a great success. The crops are coming on well but we are unable to cut our fields for hay until they dry out a bit more. However at the moment we have a lovely view of the wind rippling through the grass which is one of my favourite images in the world. Will update as soon as the courses are open again. Regards Janette
April 2012 turned out to be one of the soggiest on record here at Park Farm, but at least the local reservoir looks better for it. As you will be able to see from the top of the long course. Both courses are open but passable with care as there are still some wet patches out there. The operations on the farm have been held up due to the wet weather so now we are in the process of catching up. All the vegetation looks vibrant as it has taken full advantage of the weather. Now the weather is warming up (finally) the grass is romping away.
The local pony club is holding a clear round show jumping clinic here this morning in response to nearly all our local equine events being cancelled. Will let you know how they get on. Any way I am off to enjoy todays sunshine because guess what …………………………………………………… More rain due tomorrow!
Hi there, well what a weekend, we have opened the course early this year due to this lovely weather. We have had the website revamped many thanks to Alan Fairhall for his excellent work (as always). It is well on its way to being completed, just taking some new images to load up then done! Many thanks also to Allan Hamp who has re done all our signage and stationary.
The course is riding well after the TLC given it over the winter. All the portable fences were bought in and treated and are now back out on the courses ready for use. We have had a busy weekend rider wise so nice to see faces retuning from previous seasons and some new comers. So
I am pleased to say our conversation work is paying dividends the local populations of owls, bats, hares and other birds are flourishing. It’s wonderful to be able to ride through such beautiful countryside seeing everything coming to life once more.
We would love to see you, so if you would like to ride round the course or use any of the other facilities just give us a ring.
